Yvette is a shy young lady who belongs to an extended family. Her father left them when she was still young while her mother is paralyzed. As of now, they are dependent upon her aunt's support to provide their daily needs. Yvette has three brothers. She is the only one who is deaf in the family and to communicate better with her they have made improvised signs in the household. It was found out during the home interviewing process, that Yvette has a relative on both sides who is also deaf/mute. At the dorm her movements may be slow, but she can accomplish the task assigned to her. One of the things she enjoys doing is cleaning.
