Mariel is the 4th child and the only Deaf in the family. She lives with her parents and has two brothers and two sisters. To support the needs of the family, her father works as a laborer while her mother works as a caretaker. Mariel has a pleasing and studious personality. She quickly understands her lessons and enjoys school a lot. She also takes initiative in doing her dorm chores. She is a quiet shy type of person, yet she gains new friends. She loves reading books in her free time, and her favorite color is black. She always helps in maintaining the dormitory and always initiates to help anywhere. She is very observant to others but likes to have a conversation with her friends.
